One thing I loved was grooming. It is quality time spent on the ground with your horse. Now to be truthful, the fruits of your hard labor were often destroyed as soon as you turned your beloved beast out. At least my bays didn't look as dirty as they actually were. And with rainy season upon us, holy mud cakes did they get filthy.
So I thought I'd list what I had in my bathing kit. These were my essentials and go to items with a few specialty items.
When it cam time to bathe, I always went straight for the Ecolicious. They are made with natural and GMO free ingredients so there are no nasty chemicals on the snooty filly's coat and skin. My favorites included the Squeaky Green & Clean Shampoo, Silky Moisturizing Conditioner, Glamorous Face Highlighter, and the Moisture Maniac Detangler. When I could afford it, these were my must haves, so I normally reserved them for special occasions. I loved the way they made my horse sparkle. When I couldn't afford it, it was Mane 'n Tail!

Grooming supplies were always kept in a knock-off Tub Trug. It is lightweight, holds a lot and doubled as a wash bucket during bath time.
Another thing found in my wash bucket was this kit. It includes a jelly curry, half-moon scraper, and a microfiber sponge. One reason I love this sponge is the hand strap on the back. I hate losing the grip on my sponge and it falls into the mud. Quite frankly, I don't feel like washing the snooty filly with a dirty sponge. Kinda defeats the purpose of bathing, doesn't it? And I always preferred the half-moon scraper of the wand style. Just always felt better to me. It's just personal preference.
These microfiber towels come in handy. I always used two during bath time. One for the face and ears and one for the private bits. They absorbed well and there was no cross contamination.
I keep hoof picks everywhere. Since we get a lot of rain during the summer, I do a lot of cleaning of the hooves to keep the nastiness at bay. Hoof picks are cheap, so it doesn't hurt to purchase multiples and stick them everywhere, tack trunk, truck, trailer, grooming kit, etc.
These were the items that I had to have in my bath kit. After bath time, I usually needed a bath myself. Somehow all that dirt, grime, and hair ended up all over me. But I guess that is how it works, right?
